All of us are aware that sitting all day damages your body.
Inappropriate sitting is known as “Sitting Disease”. This term has been coined by the scientific community and it is commonly used when referring to an overly or incorrect sitting.
The side effect of too long sitting is affected from every part of our body. Starting from organ damage (like heart disease, over productive pancreas and even colon cancer) and muscle degeneration (mushy abs & limp glutes) to foggy brains, strained necks and back ache, sitting at your desk all day increases your mortality risk and has a detrimental effect on your overall health.
The question is: what can we do to avoid this?
The answer is very simple: Sit better.
Proper sitting posture is one of the most important things you can do for your body.
You can do is to make sure you are optimizing the way that your work place is set up.
Also make sure your back is supported and your feet are resting comfortably. Then check that your monitor is an arms length away at eye level. If not, move things around a bit so you’re more comfortable.
You may want to consider is to get a simple back supporter. It allows you to effortlessly sit in perfect posture on even the simplest chair. A back supporter acts like a simple belt mechanism that straps you into perfect posture and doesn’t let you slump and slouch.
