A new study which was published in the Journal of the American Association discovered that those people who have gluten sensitivity or had been diagnosed, and also undiagnosed with “latent” celiac disease are at a higher risk of dying, primarily of cancer and heart disease.
The study included around 30,000 patients from 1969 to 2008. This study examined fatalities in three groups. People with full-blown celiac disease, people with inflamed intestine and people with gluten sensitivity or latent celiac disease.
The results were striking. People with celiac disease had 39 % increased risk of dying. People with inflamed intestines had 72 % increased risk and those with gluten sensitivity had 35% increased risk.
This is a revolutionary discovery and it proves that you don’t have to be afflicted with full-blown celiac disease in order to have grave health problems if eating gluten.
Furthermore, 99% of people who find eating gluten troublesome are not even aware of it. They attribute their symptoms to something else.
