The human organism is made to lean slightly into the alkaline areas. Research have shown that the pH levels can determine what each cell’s function is going to be, the chemical reactions in the organism, the immune system and the friendly bacteria located in your intestines. But, this is not what happens with organisms which are overly acidic.

The consumption of medication and intake of toxins often times can affect the pH levels in our body, the problem is in the fact that the medications are rich with a lot of dangerous side effects, and that is if we hide their ineffectiveness under the table. Enzymes are deactivated by acidic pH values, and this issue is going to affect your digestive tract as well as the absorption of the minerals, vitamins, and other supplements.
The acidic levels in your body are also going to reduce the energy produced on cellular level. It is going to decrease the ability of the body to detoxify some heavy metals and it is going to prevent it from repairing damaged cells, thus making you prone to diseases and fatigue.
The alkaline body on the other hand is a bad area for the development of diseases and any kind of problems, and this has been scientifically proven. This same principle applies to the bacteria, mold, fungus, cancer cells, candida, and yeast. The previous problems and diseases are in need of an acidic body in order to start developing in it. Toxic overloads, acidic foods, depletion of oxygen and nutrients, emotional stress are just a few of the main causes of acidic pH levels.
Once your body starts to get acidic, it is going to try and compensate for the acidity by taking its alkaline mineral reserves, thus leaving you more prone to diseases and health problems. This process might cause a noticeable drop of the pH levels in your cell. The patients which are suffering from cancer have acidic saliva and urine the most of the time.

How to check your pH levels:
The pH levels in your body could be easily checked in the comfort of your own home, and there are pH testing strips which are going to make things much simpler. This could be done in any part of the day, but it is recommended to do it in the morning for optimal results. The urine that you test should have pH levels somewhere between 6.5 or 7.5. Once you have tested your saliva, it should have similar pH levels as the ones of your urine. The pH value of your saliva should be tested 2 h. after your meal. It would be best if you spit a few times before testing your saliva. ALWAYS USE A CLEAN SAMPLE!
Alkaline foods should take up 2/3 of your diet. Learn to calm down and address your stress. Take deep breaths, drink the recommended water quantities, and eat fresh vegetables in order to turn your body into an alkaline environment.
